Ahead of the upcoming installation at RAMP, Wintec entitled Jim Allen's News, Auckland performance artist Mark Harvey presents a live performance entitled Mark Harvey's News. News is a 1976 performance work by artist Jim Allen. Over the course of 15 minutes the artist repeats an action which gradually destroys a broadsheet newspaper.
This performance of News has been developed by Harvey under the guidance of the works original creator Jim Allen. Harvey’s performance will be followed by a discussion between Allen, Harvey and curator Mark Williams about the reenactment of performance and the changing value of documentation between 1976 and the present day.
