As part of Spark International Festival of Music, Media, Art & Design 2016 - Lonnie Hutchinson will present a public lecture and give a masterclass alongside her exhibition of new works "Light my fire" at Ramp Gallery.
Lonnie Hutchinson will be running a masterclass for those who want to delve deeper into how full time artists operate and support themselves.
Lonnie will be sharing her experiences including how to run a studio in central Auckland, seeking funding, self managing, bitching, physics challenges and all the other nitty gitty stuff that comes with being self-employed such as paying tax, paying staff and working 70 hour weeks.

‘My father was a panel beater and I always think of my life as an artist as being similar – you’ve got to have ‘a lot of cars in the garage’ at the same time to make a living,” she says.
