Accumulations

Dan Arps

  • 17 May - 2 Jun, 2006

In Accumulations, Arps is concerned with language and it’s relationship to the things that language describes. The objects and drawings in Accumulations are at once too fragmentary and too complex to satisfactorily pin down, giving language the slip at every turn. They are simultaneously incomplete and complete at the same time, but a complete what? The title Accumulations describes a process of gathering, collecting, of things being built upon and added to, not just with objects but with thoughts, meanings and relationships.
