ĀKAU
ĀKAU projects have whanau and tamariki at their heart. Their creative and hands-on process ensures that hāpori needs and aspirations are at the centre of our mahi, from start to finish. ĀKAU work on community projects across scales, from large masterplans, to papakāinga, marae, public, interior spaces and mahi toi.
ĀKAU uses a creative process (papamahi) to help conceptualise ideas, needs and aspirations with whanau for community projects. They explore what whanau want to see in their community, and their whakaaro become the foundations for the design mahi moving forward.
The team will facilitate a creative workshop using their ĀKAU papamahi process based around a community design challenge. This session will tap into aspirations, themes, narratives using creative design processes and provide a tangible creative representation of their pūtake korero.
