In an interview with 99U many years ago, designer Jason Little said: “The messier your desk is, the more creative you are”.

That got us wondering if it still holds true, and what his desk looked like when he worked on the identity for the 20th Biennale of Sydney, and the rebranding of the City of Melbourne or the reimagining of the New Zealand tech product, Streamtime.

He has made himself invaluable in the design world as the co-founder of the design agency For the People, who strive to close the gap between people, technology and design. By constantly testing new models, new theories and new ways of working they strive to bring unexpected outcomes and new design ideas to life that defy convention. It seems making a meaningful difference to people is high on his agenda, where Jason spends a large portion of his time guest lecturing at a multitude of universities, mentoring, running an incubator with UTS, and running the D&AD New Blood briefs with UTS and Enmore Tafe.

We imagine he’s tearing himself away from a pretty chaotic workspace to talk to you about the important role and opportunity for designers to make work that matters. He’ll be sharing some of the stories, projects and ideas that keep him fighting the good fight and pursuing fulfilment through creativity.
